My eighth book, and third picture book, ANONYMOUSE is on-sale today! This book grew out of my love of street art and the many ways artists beautify public spaces, whether it’s with murals, yarn-bombing, sculpture, or the more localized things people have started to do during the pandemic.
But as much as I love what humans have done to make their mark, I can’t help but think about the animals we share urban spaces with. And so Anonymouse was born- a street artist, who just happens to be a mouse, who creates street art for the animals in the city. Some of it is funny, some of it is serious, but like all good street art, it inspires a moment of pause and makes you think.
I am madly, desperately in love with the work illustrator Anna Pirolli did on the book. It’s always thrilling to work with an artist, but sometimes a person takes your vision and not only realizes it, but elevates it to something you hadn’t imagined, which is how I feel about Anna’s work in ANONYMOUSE. You’ll have to check it out to see what I mean!
ANONYMOUSE is available across North America, wherever you buy children’s books. I’ve signed a number of designed bookplates, so if you would like a signed copy, please check out this list of independent bookstores to find one nearest to you. Many of these places will ship! If you do not see a store near you, hit me up with an email and I’ll see what I can do!
Teachers! I am offering a discounted virtual presentation that celebrates street art from around the world and encourages children to take the #AnonymouseChallenge and beautify their own neighbourhoods in simple, creative ways . You can find out more about that here.
Stay tuned for more information on contests and the #AnonymouseChallenge, coming soon!
